Wheaton High School Girls Junior Varsity Soccer falls to Sherwood High School 2-1

The Knights took on the Warriors in a well played and highly contested game. The Warriors attacked the Knights’ goal over and over again in the first half, but the Knights defense of Thea Nicholson, Adrianna Hernandez, Marianna Moreau, and Kelly Frank repelled them while Esmeranda Paul kept the ball from crossing the line. The Warriors goal in the first half was a shot that bounced off the post and into the goal. The Knights’ offense improved as they were able to make the Warriors’ goalie make saves and put pressure on the defense. Savanah Thompson was fouled in the penalty area as she turned to goal and was able to convert the penalty kick to give the Knights their first goal of the season.
