The Knights took on the Titans in a fiercely contested battle on Tuesday night. The Knights created multiple chances in front of the Titans’ goal, but were not able to score during regulation. Esmeranda Paul and the Knights’ hard-working defense Kelly Frank, Thea Nicholson, Marianna Moreau, Ana Carballo and Valeria Carballo were able to keep a clean sheet for the third time this year. Amy Inga and Mercedes Alvarado helped connect the defense to the offense, and disrupted the Titans’ attack. Jade Aulestia hustled, tracked-back, and attacked the Titans defense from multiple angles to help create opportunities to score. In overtime, Jade collected a loose ball on the right sideline, dribbled past one defender who grabbed her jersey in the penalty box, forcing the referee to call for a penalty kick, even though the play ended with the ball in the back of the goal. Savanah Thompson stepped up to take the penalty shot and buried it to give the Knights their third win of the season. The entire JV Girls Soccer team improved tremendously over the course of the season and congratulations should be given to them for their hard work and dedication.
